Leighia Wells, DC
Dr. Leighia Wells grew up in southern Illinois and graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science. She earned a doctorate from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 2000, graduating Magna Cum Laude. In 2006, she earned a certification in the McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy to become one of the first Chiropractors to have attained this credential.
Dr. Wells became certified as a Primary Spine Practitioner (PSP) through the University of Pittsburgh in July of 2021. Dr. Wells identifies patients that require further diagnostic evaluation, such as x-ray, MRI, etc., and ensures that other specialists and surgeons see patients when it’s most appropriate for their skill set.
Dr. Wells founded her private practice in 2001 and practiced for five years at Borgess Spine, working extensively with other providers. She held leadership positions in many community and state associations and is active in legislative efforts to improve healthcare access for patients in Michigan. Dr. Wells is a member of the American Chiropractic Association, Michigan Association of Chiropractors, and the Forward-Thinking Chiropractic Alliance.
